Mumbai Covid-19 Task Force Chief Dr Sanjay Oak shielding its own hospital from Service to Covid-19

Maharashtra government has set up a Covid-19 task force to treat deadly virus patients across the state and to contain its further outbreak, but the Mumbai chief of this task force Dr Sanjay Oak has involved in controversy by shielding a hospital Prince Ali Khan which he heads as CEO.

Notably, Maharashtra government has constituted a task force of specialist doctors to suggest measures to minimise death rate and clinical management of Covid-19 patients that are critically ill. RTI activist Anil Galgali has raised questions about his Dr Oak's conflict of interest, as Mumbai task force chief has decided all Mumbai's hospital to convert in Covid-19 Hospital but shield his own Prince Ali Khan which he heads as CEO. This is fit case of in inquiry and also a case of conflict of interest," reacted Galgali.  Located in Byculla in South Mumbai, Prince Ali Khan hospital has 165 beds and can be very handy to treat deadly virus infected disease.

RTI activist Anil Galgali has written a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray, Mayor Kishori Pednekar, Chief Secretary Ajoy Mehta, Principal Secretary (Department of Public Health), Dr. Pradeep Vyas and BMC Commissioner Pravin Singh Pardeshi and demanded that Prince Ali Khan Hospital is needs to be declared as Covid-19 facility. Galgali  has contended that the Covid-19 patients from the adjecent areas like Worli, are being admitted in remotely located Seven Hills hospital in Marol, which causes huge inconvenience and this can be avoided if Prince Ali Khan hospital is designated as Covid-19 treating facility.

"Why Dr Oak didn't think his hospital for treating Covid-19 patients, is a question which he needs to clarify", pointed out Galgali.
