Aadhaar Card Project of Rs.13,663.22 Crores Issued without Tender by UPA Govt.
From the Public to the Supreme Court & by the Various Civil Societies already raised concerns about right to privacy and sensitive datas in the hand of private agencies & their opposition are well known to the Aadhaar Card project. In replied to the RTI filed by the RTI Activist Anil Galgali, UIDAI confirms the various contracts for the Aadhaar Card Project of Rs 13,663.22 Crores Awarded without procure tendering during the period of Previous UPA Government. Rs 6,562.88 crores of Rupees Spent by the Unique Identity Authority of India and 90.30 Crore Aadhaar Card issued by UIDAI.
RTI Activist Anil Galgali ask information to UIDAI about Tender process & the total amount for the project of Aadhaar Card which was headed by Nandan Nilkeni. Public Information Officer SS Bisht inform Anil Galgali that Aadhaar work has not issued any kind of tender. A total of 25 companies have been awarded different responsibilities.The empanelment of agencies is being done under empanelment process guidelines contained in RFE (Request for Empamelment) dated 19th may 2014. The enrollment for Aadhaar card & issued to the total 90.30 crores citizens & UIDAI is mandated to issue Aadhaar to all residents of India. Another Public Information Officer and Deputy Director R Harish inform Anil Galgali that Rs 13,663.22 crore approved outlay for UIDAI project. Rs 6,562.88 crore amount incurred upto date 31 May 2015 since inception.
RTI activists Anil Galgali demanding an enquiry to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to bring transperency in this Aadhaar Card Project & award process should be investigated. This is very unfair where the projects relates with the sensitive datas of 125 crores of population of the country & no tendering process was done, said Anil Galgali. The Maximum total 8 contracts awarded to the Wipro & HCL. 2 contracts to Tata Consultancy.14 contracts given to Mac Associates, HP (India) Sales private Ltd, National Informetic Centre, Sagem Morpho Securities private Ltd, Satyam Computer Services ltd, L1 identity Solutions,Totem International Limited, Linkwel Telesystem Private Limited, Sai infosystem india limited, Geodesic Limited, ID Solutions, NISG, SQTC, Telsima communication pvt limited. One contract awarded to Aircel, Bharati Airtel, BSNL, Railtel Corporation of India Limited, Reliance Communications & Tata Communications. The sensitive datas of finger prints & iris of each & every resident of the country could be remain unsafe with private companies, says Harsheet Shah (Cyber Law Expert cum Researcher).
