Though Faulty, the DP Plan earns Rs 60 Lakhs for the BMC.

Almost 6839 citizens sought various DP Remarks, DP Sheets, DP Reports on feeling alarmed by the faults in the DP Plan prepared by the BMC. For these details they had to spend almost Rs 60 Lakhs to the BMC, revealed a information reply to RTI Activist Anil Galgali. RTI Activist Anil Galgali had sought the details from the BMC, about the total number of applications received and charges paid by the citizens seeking information about the newly prepared Mumbai Development Plan. In a reply the Administrative Officer of the DP dept revealed that, citizens sought various information's like the DCR Booklet, DP Report, DP Sheet, & DP Remarks in the process generating a revenue of Rs 59 Lakhs 48 Thousand 087. Of these, Rs 39 Lakhs 5 Thousand 312 was earned by providing DP Remarks, to about 2220 applicants. Almost 4130 citizens sought DP Sheets which earned Rs 13 Lakhs 950 to the BMC. The BMC sold about 312 DCR Booklets earning Rs 4 Lakhs 25 Thousand 880 and finally 177 citizens applied for DP Report bringing in a revenue of Rs 3 Lakhs 15 Thousand 945. On the query of total number of suggestions and objections received by the BMC, it was informed Anil Galgali that up till 27th April 2015 the BMC received a total of 64,867 suggestions and objections. Looking at the monumental mistakes committed by the BMC in preparing the new Mumbai DP Plan, CM Devendra Fadnavis has instructed BMC to correct its mistakes and come out with a fault free DP Plan in 4 months, but it is important to note here that the BMC supplied information to 6839 applicants information's from the faulty DP Plan which in itself may be faulty, hence in a letter addressed to the CM, CS & BMC Commissioner, Anil Galgali has demanded that the charges be refunded to the 6839 applicants.
