Information Commission has no information on its own order which have been appeled in court
To keep records of anyone who has gone to the courts against the appellate authority challenging their decision, is mandatory for the State Information Commission. But in a shocking revelation made by RTI Activist Anil Galgali, Information Commission has no information on its own order which have been appeled in court. Mr Gavde, Secretary of the State Information Commission has directed an order to provide such information which have been appeled in court to Galgali.
RTI Activits Anil Galgali had ask to provide information of Information Commission's own order which have been appeled in court. Desk officer and Public Information Officer M Kamble informed Galgali that no such tabulated information is available with them who have been appeled in courts. No appointment of special lawyers for representing SIC is done nor any such notification or demand for the same is also directed to the Government. Anil Galgali filed an appeal against the order. Secretary of the State Information Commission and Appellate Authority B B Gavade issued instruction to give Galgali updated information in the coming 15 days. Because earlier Information Commission prepare all information related with court cases upto 2013.
" It's disappointing or rather intentional to not keep records on its own order which have been appeled in court. Obviously they has to file petition in courts. State Information Commission till 2013 had accurately maintained this data, but since last 2 years, they have failed to updated and keep these data with them. Also since there is no panel representing SIC, many times cases fall weak in the courts. I have written to the Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis and the Commissioner of SIC Ratnkar Gaikwad to first upload all this information on the website, make it public, and also appoint lawyers to defend the same" concluded Galgali.
