Traveling Expenses incurred by the Chairman of FTTI is not available with FTII itself

In a shocking revelation made by RTI activist Anil Galgali, it is said that the traveling expenses incurred by the Chairman of the famous Film and Television Institute to travel within the country and abroad is not available with the premier institute itself. RTI Activist Anil Galgali had filed an RTI with the FTII in 26 August 2015 had demanded expenses incurred on travels made by the Chairman of the FTII in India or abroad in last 15 years. FTII Deputy Director S K Dekate has inform Anil Galgali that the information would be made available within 3 weeks. Also Galgali had put a query as to who was the authority to sanction such traveling tours of the Chairman, to which Institute had replied that for domestic travels i.e. in India , the Director of the institute has the authority and for abroad tours, permission is granted by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. But after 29 days no information was not made available to Anil Galgali. 29 October 2015,Chief Account Officer Shri U A Dhenke informed Anil Galgali that B & A Section is concerned only with the payment of bills submitted by various sections/ departments of the institute and do not deal with any type of file/records the approval of bills etc. The approval of expenditure sanction etc is available only in the files of the concerned departments. Mr Dhenkne further informed that Annual Accounts of the Institute as a whole are prepared as per Government norms. Therefore , Institute doesn't maintain accounts for individual student, staff or supplier etc. Therefore, the information regarding Traveling expenses of FTII Chairman is not available at the B&A Section in complete format. Anil Galgali said that such information as per Right to Information Act of 2005 section 4 (1) should be compulsorily to disclose. "Firstly they informed me that we will give you information within 3 weeks, and now they deny the same. Anil Galgali now written to the Information and Broadcasting Ministry to make available such information and make it disclose in the public domain".
