Zoting Committee incurs expenses of Rs 45.42 Lakhs

Zoting Committee which was constituted by the Maharashtra government to investigate into the allegations of corruption by Former Revenue Minister Eknath Khadse in the Bhosari land acquisition has incurred a expenses upto Rs 45.42 Lakhs. This information was provided by the Maharashtra government to RTI Activist Anil Galgali. The Enquiry Committee consisted of Retired High court Judge D S Zoting

RTI Activist Anil Galgali had sought information from the government about the expenses incurred on the Zoting Committee. The information was provided by the GAD's Under Secretary C N Mahire. In the Zoting Committee, the salary expenses incurred on Justice Dinkar Zoting from 23rd June 2016 upto 15th July 2017 was Rs 28 Lakhs 21 Thousand 126 and the cost of expenses like Telephone, Petrol, Newspapers, Electricity, Water etc was 1 Lakh 68 Thousand 035. Similarly the on the other member Mr Madhukar Chauhan salary expenses from 6th August 2016 to 15th July 2017 was Rs 15 Lakhs 13 Thousand 001 and the expenses for Telephone, Petrol, Newspapers Electricity Water etc was Rs 40 Thousand 262.

The Enquiry Committee headed by the Retired Judge of the High court Justice Dinkar Zoting was appointed on 23rd June 2016 to enquire into the irregularities in acquiring of land Pune Districts, Bhosari for the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation and the term was fixed for 3 months.  But due to delay in preparation and enquiry procedure the report was submitted to the government on 30th June 2017 and has been claimed as a confidential report. Anil Galgali has demanded that the report be made public and action as per the report be taken immediately. He further claimed that the expenses incurred are met from the taxes paid by the public and hence it is imperative that the report be made public.
