Vacancies at the cyber police station, which is considered important for solving cyber crimes. 13 posts out of 60 of PSI and Police Constable in cyber police station are vacant, according to reply to RTI Query filed by RTI Activist Anil Galgali.
RTI activist Anil Galgali had asked the cyber police station for information about the sanction post, actual working post and vacant posts in Cyber Police Station. The information sent by the cyber police station was made available to Anil Galgali by the Assistant Commissioner of Police of Mumbai, Suryakant Tarade. Of this, 47 out of the total 60 posts are working and 13 posts are vacant. The post of PSI and Police Constable of the total number of 60 is very important. Of the 17 posts of PSI, only 7 are working. 10 posts of PSI are vacant. Apart from this, 26 posts of police constable are sanction while 18 posts are vacant, only 8 policemen are working. In the absence of sanctioned posts, 9 Assistant Police Inspectors are employed instead of PSI and 3 Police Hawaldar and 7 Police Naik are working. 1 Police Inspector post is vacant.
The number of cyber crimes in Mumbai is increasing and if the sanction post are fillup 100% then the crime will decrease dramatically and cyber criminals also scare to fraud, said Anil Galgali.
