Toilets constructed under the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan lies shut for past one year, The MCGM fools the PMO

After spending lakhs of rupees on construction of toilet in the Ward no 209 of E Ward, under the national program of the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan, it lies closed for the past one year. Further it has come to light that, the Mumbai Municipal corporation has fooled the PMO by providing them with false information. RTI Activist Anil Galgali in his written complaint has demanded that the toilet be immediately put to use and has demanded strong action against the Officer Chandan Dongre for misleading and sending false information to the PMO.

RTI Activist Anil Galgali had sent a complaint to the PMO about an Toilet which was constructed under the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan in the Ward no 209 of the E Ward and was shut for the past one year. At the time when the enquiry was initiated, instead of opening up the toilet for use of the public, the Asst Engineer Chandan Dongre sent a false information to the PMO and mislead them. The complaint was forwarded to Senior bureaucrat Bipin Mallik and through him it moved to Medha Gadgil, Manisha Mhaiskar and Ajoy Mehta the Municipal Commissioner and ended at the table of the Asst Engineer in the Solid Waste Management department Chandan Dongre for action. Instead Mr Chandan Dongre, in his reply to the PMO informed that, the construction has been completed, and the process of appointment of the CBO is in process. Once the CBO is appointed, the toilet will be opened up for use of the public. This information was sent, despite the fact that, the Same toilet was inaugurated by the Asst Municipal Commissioner Shri Sahebrao Gaikwad on 12th January 2018 thereby proving that Mr Dongre by providing false information tried to mislead the PMO. 

Anil Galgali in his letters addressed to PM Narendra Modi, CM Devendra Fadnavis, Municipal Commissioner Ajoy Mehta, DMC Ashok Khaire and Harshad Kale has demanded that the toilet be immediately opened for use of the public and strict action against AE Chandan Dongre for providing false information. The Work Order is issued after the CBO is appointed, but political interference namely due to non clearence of the verbal permission of the Corporator had been creating an obstruction in the smooth implementation of the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan, thereby making a mockery of the national program alleged Anil Galgali.
