Vidyavihar Railway Bridge connecting East & West will be completed by the end of 2020

Mumbai Municipal Administration has informed RTI activist Anil Galgali that the much awaited Vidyavihar Railway Bridge connecting East and West is in full swing and will be completed by the end of 2020. Anil Galgali has been accelerating the work of Vidyavihar railway bridges for the last 10 years.

RTI activist Anil Galgali had sought information from Vidyavihar railway bridge from Mumbai Municipal Corporation. Mumbai Municipal bridge Department informed Anil Galgali that the drain widening and foundation work of the bridge is currently underway. The work order was issue von April 19, 2018 and the completion date is November 1, 2020. The length of the Vidyavihar railway bridge is 480 meters. Widths range from 17.5 to 24.5. The total cost of the project is 88 crore 42 lakh 49 thousand 110 rupees. Central Railway Board Engineer PK Gupta has requested to the Mumbai Municipal Corporation to submit the designs and drawing for sechamtic plan duly proof checked by IIT Mumbai for approval. They also requested to submit the revised estimate of ROB within Railway portion to work out codal charges which are to be deposited with Railways for further processing of the proposal and for casting of agreements.

Also requested to paid the electrical charges about 11 crore 2 lakh 73 thousand 116 rupees. In addition, a total of Rs 76 lakh 66 thousand 135 rupees and 80 paise infraction charges have been asked to pay to Bmc for signal and telecom.

Anil Galgali has sent a letter to Municipal Commissioner Pravin Singh Pardesi demanding that the Central Railway's fees be paid as soon as possible so that work will not be hampered due to lack of money.
