While implementing the Slum Rehabilitation schemes it is mandatory for MMRDA, as per rules to deposit with the amount earmarked for infrastructure development with the MCGM. But it has come to light that MMRDA is avoiding to transfer RS 121 crores that it was supposed to give to MCGM. Now to protect the beans from spilling, they have concealed and provided incomplete information to RTI Activist Anil Galgali on his query.
RTI activist Anil Galgali had sought information from the MMRDA Authority on September 27, 2019 that how much amount paid to Municipal Corporation of Mumbai accordance with the SRA Scheme, the name of the scheme, the total amount paid and the balance amount. On October 25, 2019, Deputy City Planner Prashak Ganvir informed Anil Galgali without giving full details that only basic infrastructure charges upto March 2018 amounting to Rs 121 crore 78 lakh 56 thousand 35 have been deposited under the authority's SRA cell. Ganvir only provide the half and misleaded information. After that Anil Galgali met SRA Cell Chief Mohan Sonar and request to supply the detail information. Subsequently, Ganveer was advised to write a letter to Anil Galgali, and Galgali also sent a letter on November 27, 2019. Nonetheless, Anil Galgali said that Ganveer was deliberately hiding this information.
According to Section 9.2 of DCR Rule 33 (10), it is clear that 90 % of the total amount of Infrastructure Charges to paid to the local municipality. Now Anil Galgali wrote a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray demanding an inquiry into why the MMRDA Authority does not give the money to the municipality. Also take strict action on MMRDA officer who deliberately hiding this crucial information.
