Mumbai Homeless Shelter still on paper!

RTI activist Anil Galgali said the Supreme Court order is being trampled, saying that the shelter  home in Mumbai is still on paper. Galgali was speaking at an event organized on the occasion of World Homeless Day in Kamathipura.

RTI Activist Anil Galgali, State level shelter monitoring committee member Brijesh Arya, Bmc Officer Anil Pawar, Leena Patil, Subhash Rokde, Anjali Kharwa were present at the event organized by NGO Pehchan . Anil Galgali said that as per the Supreme Court order, it was necessary to build 1 shelter home for every 1 lakh population, whereas today only 7 are in working condition. If there is a shelter, no one needs to live on the road and the pavement.

Brijesh Arya said that the organization is fighting for all and the state level committee is trying to empower the homeless. Anil Pawar gave information about the helpline and other schemes launched by Bmc.
