Homeless people in Mumbai have to be vocal and fight their own battle. On Wednesday, RTI activist Anil Galgali and Brijesh Arya met many homeless people outside JJ Hospital to take stock of the facilities provided by state government.
Today is "World Homeless Day" . According to the census in 2011, in Mumbai there are 57,416 homeless people. However, the organisations and NGO's claims that city hve over 2 lakh homeless people. These people lives in very poor condition and struggling to get basic facilities like food, shelter and cloths.
RTI activist Anil Galgali said, "Homeless should also take benefits of various government run schemes. They should get ration card, voter ID and free education in schools.
President of NGO Pehchan, Brijesh Arya said that recently I met chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and he has shown positive approach and ensured that he will look into this. In the meeting Pahachan's Leena Patil, Subhash Rokade, Naseem Shaikh, Sheela Pawar, Shahjadi and Meera Yadav were present.
