Covid Task Force committee set up by the Maharashtra government did not include experts from the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine (Community Drugs). RTI activist Anil Galgali has drawn the government's attention to the matter.
In a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Secretary Ajoy Mehta and Principal Secretary Dr Pradeep Vyas, RTI activist Anil Galgali said the Maharashtra government had constituted a Covid Task Force to control the rising Corona death toll. This includes private doctor congregations in private hospitals. Unfortunately, the Task Force does not include experts from the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine (Department of Community Medicine) which are the most important factors.
Anil Galgali further said that no one knows what the task force does today and the planning. The prevalence of corona is on the rise in Mumbai and the government will need experts from the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine (Community Medicine). There experience and skills can be of benefit to Maharashtra Government, says Galgali.
