Anil Galgali has been pursuing the administration for speedy construction of Vidyavihar railway bridges for the past 14 years.

RTI activist Anil Galgali had sought information about the Vidyavihar railway bridge from the Mumbai Municipal Corporation administration. Mumbai Municipal Corporation Bridge Department informed Anil Galgali that the work order was issued on 19th April 2018 and the completion date is 4th November 2020. The length of Vidyavihar Railway Bridge is 613 meters. The width of the railway section is 24.30 m while the width of the access road is 17.50 m. The total cost of the project is 78 crore 19 lakh 28 thousand 895 rupees. A total of 35.91 crores has been given to Central Railway for various clearances. So far the Mumbai Municipal Corporation has appointed the contractor AB Infrabuild, A total of 57.90 crores has been paid to Infrabuild and there is a balance of 20.28 crores. Interestingly, not even a single rupee penalty was levied on the contractor.

According to Anil Galgali, there is a loss due to cost increase in such a project, but the citizens have to suffer because the project is not completed on time. There will be no delay in obtaining various permissions if the railway administration initiates a single window scheme in such a project.
