The central government enacted Clinical Establishment Act in 2012. Since then government has strengthened the act while welcoming suggestions or objections from the stakeholders. An important act from the point of view of quality patient care is yet to be implemented in Maharashtra laments RTI Activist Anil Galgali.
Anil Galgali was speaking as Chief Guest at Bharat Seva Sangh Hall Dadar East on the occasion of World Kidney Day at a function organized by Rugna Kalyan Seva a social service organization on Renal Disease and Diet. Galgali further said that if implemented the act will bring transparency and enhance patient safety while making quality care affordable. Due to lack of initiative and will on the part of current government the reccomendations of Clinical Establishment Act are gathering dust. Even the previous government didn't pay necessary attention to the same.
Former Medical Director of Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital Dr. Sanjay Thakur expressed concern at the state of healthcare vis-a-vis its importance abroad. Dietician Dr. Seema Sale spoke on importance of diet in renal disease and advised on dietary modifications for renal patients. Social Worker Vinod Sadvilkar gave information about various schemes in existence of Central government, State government and Municipal Corporation for the benefit of needy patients. Organizer of the program Jitendra Tandel informed that shortly a website will be launched enabling easy access to necessary information for the benefit of needy patients as well as a planned Toll-free number. Bharti Tandel introduced the program while Jay Sathelkar compered.

Wilson Gaikwad, Eknath Sangle, C M Kulkarni, Jitendra Loke, Ajit Vahdane, G T Jadhav, D Pawar, Anand Sartape, Sandip Tavsalkar, Vibhav Juvekar, Smruti Gamre, Prakash Wagh, Kamla Rao, Vaibhav Tari, Rajendra Dhage, Satej Dalvi, Saiprasad Parab, Akshay Dalvi and Shreya Nimonkar.
