Rs 4150 crore cost of covid released in detail

Municipal Commissioner sent the report to Anil Galgali

Rs 4150 Crore cost data of Covid has been announced in detail by Mumbai Municipal Corporation. Municipal Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal has personally given the data to RTI Activist Anil Galgali. Rs 1466.13 crore has been spent on the Jumbo facility.

RTI Activist Anil Galgali filed a RTI plea to the Municipal Commissioner's office and asked for a copy of the report submitted regarding the expenditure of 4 thousand crores incurred during the Covid period. No department provided information to Galgali. Municipal Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal gave 3 pages of detailed information to Anil Galgali as soon as he complained in writing about this. This data is as on 31 October 2023.

123.88 crore was spent on food packets and food grains, 263.77 crore on central procurement department, 120.63 crore on transport department, 376.71 crore on mechanical and electrical department, 6.85 crore on solid and waste department. The MLA and MP has contribute of only 9 lakhs.


Jumbo facility Centre top in expenditure

1466.13 crore has been spent on 13 jumbo facility centers in Mumbai. After this, 24 wards and Seven Hill Hospital in Mumbai have spent 1245.25 crores. 233.10 crore has been spent by the office of the Executive Health Officer. 197.07 crores by 5 major hospitals in Mumbai, 25.23 crores by 6 specialty hospitals, 89.70 crores by 17 peripheral hospitals and 1.48 crores by Nair Hospital.

According to Anil Galgali, although these figures are clear, a white paper on all types of expenditure in the Covid period needs to be drawn up so that there is more clarity.
