KDMC extended the 8 time deadline for the much-delayed Kalyan East Skywalk results a lot costlier. Common public faces lots of problem due to 6 year delay work. Finally It's open after spending Rs 12, 74,57,084/- , revels in a query filed by RTI Activist Anil Galgali.
RTI Activist Anil Galgali ask different query with KDMC regarding Kalyan East Skywalk. KDMC Deputy Engineer Nemade Bhalchandra informed that Physically Skywalk open to public in 31 Dec 2016. This Skywalk get MMRDA fund also. KDMC issued work order to M/s Jai hind Road Contractors on 6 November 2009. On 31 October 2008 Standing Committee sanction a expenditure of Rs 10,75,86,000/- which was more then 39% of actual cost ie Rs 7,74,00,000/- . After that on 29 September 2015, Standing Committee again give node to extra cost of Rs 1,98,71,084/-. Then revised project cost goes to Rs 12,74,57,084/-. Due to Railway Authority only permit to carry work out side of Railway Track which automatically affected project . KDMC extended the deadline for 8 time which was 5 June 2011, 31 March 2012, 30 September 2013, 31 March 2014, 31 March 2015, 31 December 2015, 31 May 2016 and 31 December 2016 . After so delay, KDMC not take any action on Contractor. After Skywalk open to public, M/s Jai hind Road Contractor put his board on Skywalk as a courtesy though he benefit crores of Rupees instead he delay the work. After Anil Galgali strong objection, KDMC wash Contractor name by use white ink.
