The position has not been filled since then till to date, even after of lapse for 12 long years. During this time 9 part time Directors have been handed over charge one after another for running the affairs of Directorate, Public Information Officer N.M.Waghmode informed the RTI activist. Prof. L.M. Yevale, Prof. S.B. Thakre, Prof N.V. Pasalkar, Dr. R.C. Balapure, Prof. H.R. Nagdive, P.H. Wagde, G.B. Dhanorkar, Prof. G.G. Waghmare & Prof Rajiv Mishra have handled part-time charge of the Directorate. Present incumbent Mishra has been heading the Directorate since 1st December 2015. After the BJP government came to power in Maharashtra two years ago, With 'Preservation of Arts and Culture' high on its agenda, It was expected things would change, But 'Achhe-Din' failed to arrive for this Directorate, Galgali said.
