Borivali is the most crowded station in the Western Line of Mumbai Train

In all of the 36 stations on the Western route of Local railway of the Mumbai city, Borivali remains at the top in terms of the number of passenger's travelling to and from the station and thus generating highest revenue everyday for the Western route. A total 2,87,196 people board everyday generating Rs 16,86,591/- everyday. This information was given by the Western Railway department to RTI activist Anil Galgali. 35,08,469 passenger's board everyday Western line of Mumbai Local & everyday generating Rs. 1,99,46,652/- everyday. Borivali, Andheri, Nalasopara, Virar, Bhayander, kandivali , Goregaon, Dadar and Santacruz are the top 10 most crowded stations on the Western Line of Mumbai Local. RTI activist Anil Galgali had sought information from the Western Railway administration about the total number of people travelling everyday by the local train, thus income generated and total number of people boarding station-wise. Commercial officer of the Western Railway Shri Prakash Chandrapal in reply Galgali to this RTI query said that in all the 36 stations right from Churchgate to Dahanu the total income generated is Rs. 1,99,46,652 and a total of 35,08,469 people use our facility to travel. Borivali has the highest number of people using local facility i.e. 2,87,196 which is followed by Andheri (2,56,771), Nalasopara (2,02,903), Virar (1,89,456), Bhayander (1,76,844), Malad (1,72,656) Kandivali (1,70,747), Virar (1,56,394) Santacruz (146,988), Bandra (1,43,675), Vasai Road (1,31,838), Churchgate (1,24,521), Mira Road (1,17,747), Jogeshwari (1,04,217). The least number of people are travelling from a sation called Umroli; only 355 passengers everyday travel from Umroli followed by Vaitarna (2565), Vangaon (5982) and Kelve Road (5591) A total of Rs. 1,99,46,652 is generated in terms of income on the Western Railway Line. Borivali tops the chart here as well. Borivali (16,86,591), Andheri (14,88,845), Nalasopara (13,52,587), Virar (13,33,733), Bhayandar (9,95,121), Vasai Road (9,34,007), Malad (9,30,898), Kandivli (9,29,175), Dadra (8,90,606), Goregaon (8,39,617), Bandra (7,55,846), Churchgate (7,43,275) is the sort of income. In most of the low-income stations, umroli railway station earnings is Rs 4930 / - followed by Vaitarana (10,749), kelave Road (31,501) Vangaon (40,343) Anil Galgali was keen on knowing information as to how many train trips were organised per day to meet needs of so many commuters, to which in its reply Western railway said that the said information i.e the railway Time Table is published everyday it is available at the Railway Book Stall. But as on today, there are total 84 racks that are put in use and a total of 1305 train trips are made. Special trains cannot be made available. Approx one train comprises of 2689 passengers. Anil Galgali feels that the the train trips are very less in comparison to the passengers travelling everyday on the western line. He feels if the train trips are increased, the chances of accidents of passengers will reduce drastically.

    Dadar Seems to be Missing from the crowded list,
    and how can railway calculate dadar revenue for western line, as they have ticket counter which is shared by both western and central lines
