MLA Parag Shah, Raees Sheikh, Dilip Lande are also taking honorarium for the post of corporator
It is morally expected that the people's representatives who are corporators in the BMC administration should not take the honorarium after becoming MLAs and MPs. However, Parag Shah, Raees Sheikh and Dilip Lande, who have become MLAs, are receiving honorarium from the corporation, the RTI activist Anil Galgali has been informed by the secretary's department.
Anil Galgali, an RTI activist, had sought information from the secretary's department that the name, salary and allowance of the corporator who has become an MLA and MP should be disclosed if he is not taking the total amount. The Bmc secretary informed Anil Galgali that MP Manoj Kotak and MLA Ramesh Korgaonkar were not taking honorarium. MLAs Raees Sheikh, Parag Shah and Dilip Lande earn Rs. 25,000 / - for honorarium and Rs. 150 / - is given for allowance only for four such meetings.
According to Anil Galgali, the political party was required to resign in the place where the corporator has become MLA and MP. But unfortunately no political party has taken a decision. In such a case it was necessary to instruct not to take minimum honorarium.
