RTI Activist Anil Galgali said it was unfortunate that the central government had slashed the implementation of RTI Act in the current year's budget. Also 60,000 appeals were pending in Maharashtra as 3 state information commissioners had not been appointed to handle RTI cases.
The third flower of the study class started by Rashtra Seva Dal Raigad and Gram Samvardhan Samajik Sanstha for social workers in rural areas was held at Bandhanwadi in Panvel taluka on Sunday. Senior RTI activist Anil Galgali gave a lecture on "Right to Information and Its Implementation". This was stated by Galgali while giving guidance. Galgali further said that political parties change their role as soon as they come to power because the parties in the opposition support the RTI Act and oppose the RTI Act as soon as they come to power.
The study class was conducted under the chairmanship of Santosh Thakur, President of Gram Samvardhan Samajik Sanstha in which Ramesh Patil, Raigad District Working President of Right to Education Sabha, Maruti Gaikwad, Adv. Prof. Sandeep Ghadge of Datta Patil Law College, Prashant Patil, Executive Member of Gram Samvardhan Samajik Sanstha, Balgram Mitra Raju Patil, Tejas Chavan, Rajesh Rasal, Jivika More, Rajesh Patil along with volunteer social workers, women and youth in rural areas were present.
