2.40 lakh Student's Decreased, 2912 Teacher's Increase In Maharashtra

The Primary Education in Maharashtra has surely taken a back seat! The ratio between the children studying versus the teacher teaching has gone for a toss! The information saw light after RTI activist Anil Galgali sought information on the current scenario. Unplanned Adjustment of teachers & decrease in the number of children getting admitted in schools has led to this disturbance in the ratio. In the last 5 years, in Maharashtra 36 districts as many as 2.40 children have decrease and 2912 Teacher's who have been increase in the last 3 years. 

RTI Activist Anil Galgali had put his RTI to the Maharashtra Primary Eduation Council and asked for U-DAIS report. As per the report, in the last 5 years, between Standard 1st to 8th 2,40,031 children number decrease in these schools. But at the same time the teachers ratio remains the same. In Year 2012-13 out of the total number 1,62,26,543 Children 86,27,243 were Boys and 75,99,300 were Girls. In Year 2013-14, out of 1,61,58,791 Children,  85,94,742 were Boys and 75,64,049 were Girls.In the year 2014-2015 out of 1,61,72,420 children 85,96,022 were Boys and 75,76,398 Girl Children. Year 2015-2016 there is 1,60,44,013 Students out of which 85,24,669 were Boys and 75,19,344 Girls. In the Year 2016-2017 there has 1,59,85,712 Children out of which 84,95,745 were Boys and 74,89,967 were Girls. But in the last 4 years the number of teachers both in Government & Private schools the number has not come down drastically.  

2,68,915 Teachers has worked in Government Schools and 1,45,837 in Private School out of total Teacher's 4,14,752 in Year 2013-14 . 2,58,406 Teacher's has worked in Government School and  1,47,449 Teacher's worked privately out of total  4,05,855 Teacher's in the year 2014-15.  2,54,785 Teacher's has worked in the Government  and 1,51,507 worked private School out of  4,06,292 Teacher's in Year 2015-16. 2,53,513 have been Working in Government School and  1,55,254 in Private School  out of 4,08,767 Teacher's in the Year 2016-17

In letter sent to the CM Devendra Fadnavis and Education Minister Vinod Tawde along with Primary Education Secretary Nandkumar and Education Commissioner, Anil Galgali has demanded that if Education Commissioner and there District Educational Officer will make Adjustment of Additional Teacher's in Same Year June Month then there is no need to give salary to Teacher's without Teaching work. Also there is need to file caveat in the court before any Teacher file case in court case against his adjustment in another School, add Galgali.
