In view of the upcoming Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections, Mumbai Youth Congress President Zeenat Shabrin organised a one-day training camp at Tilak Bhavan, Dadar (West). The camp featured expert sessions on election management, municipal governance, and the Right to Information (RTI).
RTI activist Anil Galgali delivered a detailed session on the Mumbai Municipal Corporation and RTI. He shared important tips on “how to obtain information and use it effectively for public interest.” Addressing the participants, he said, “Strengthen your booth first, and everything else will follow.”
Maharashtra Congress General Secretary Adv. Sandesh Kondvilkar explained the essential requirements, procedures and precautions to be followed while filing nomination papers for the municipal elections.
Former Corporator Asif Zakaria provided an in-depth understanding of the structure, departmental responsibilities, and functioning of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation. He highlighted “which department is responsible for which function, and what elected representatives should keep in mind while delivering citizen services.”
During the camp, Indian Youth Congress Social Media Chairman Manu Jain guided participants on how to effectively use various social media platforms during the Mumbai municipal elections. He presented strategies for digital outreach, public communication and voter engagement.
The training camp also witnessed the participation of Indian Youth Congress General Secretary Surbhi Dwivedi, Secretary In-charge Pawan Majethia, and Secretary Hargun Singh.
The training camp organised by Mumbai Youth Congress proved to be a valuable opportunity for new workers. Participants expressed that they gained meaningful knowledge and direction for preparing for the upcoming elections.
