Suresh Prabhu pays a single visit to his Public Greiviences office at Dadar
The Mumbaikar Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu had opened a new Public Greiviences office at Dadar east to meet railway commuters and solve their problems brought before him , but it seems he had just visited only once in that office in the past 20 months since it became operational, as per the information provided by the Central Railway administration to RTI Activist Anil Galgali.
RTI Activist Anil Galgali had sought information from the Central Railway regarding the various functionings of the Public Greiviences office opened at Dadar east. The Public Information Officer and Dy General Manager Saket Kumar Mishra informed Galgali that, Suresh Prabhu had visited the Public Greiviences office on 9th January 2015 at 4 pm . This office was established in the portion of the Dy Chief Engineer (construction) office and the previous office is occupying the area in the back of this office. The office has received about 1600 complaints and at an average it receives at least 12-25 people approaching with Greiviences. The office has received complaints related to trains movements, inspection, stoppage at specific stations, facilities for passengers, and any other issues. In the issue of expenses incurred two different information have come forward, the Dy GM construction Rajeev Mishra has claimed that no expenses have been incurred and the Dy Secretary of Public Greiviences office P M Kulkarni has claimed minimal work has been done.
Anil Galgali has expressed that since the office was started at the initiative of Suresh Prabhu then it would have been proper for him to give more time for it and it would have increased the importance of having that office, He should have paid regular visits to the office. Also since not much importance has been given, the complaints redressal is also poor. Since Suresh Prabhu is a resident of Mumbai, it is imperative that he should himself sit and hear the Public Greiviences personally to solve them.
