The Chief Secretary of Maharashtra, Swadheen Kshatriya genuineness was proved when it was found that, he has paid the rent and electricity charges of the BEST GM's bungalow for the period it was utilized by him for his accommodation. Though he was CS, he had occupied the bungalow meant for the GM of BEST Undertaking and has paid Rs 5 lakhs 62 thousand 780 and paise 56 as rent and electricity charges accrued during his stay, this information was provided to RTI Activist Anil Galgali by the BEST administration.
RTI Activist Anil Galgali had sought information from the BEST Administration regarding the usage of the bungalow meant for the GM of BEST, by Swadheen Kshatriya, though he was not the GM of the BEST. The Public Information Officer and Chief Engineer ( Establishment) of the BEST Administration, informed Galgali that, as per directions of the State Government, the bungalow meant for GM was provided to Swadheen Kshatriya for the periods 27 th June 2006 to 9th May 2010 and 31st January 2011 to 31st March 2015. During his stay, Swadheen Kshatriya paid Rs 3 lakhs 95 thousand 58 and paise 56 only towards electricity charges and Rs 1 lakh 68 thousand 722 towards Rent. The bungalow admeasuring 530 sq metres has been provided water supply from the connection provided to Electric House.
During the term of Ratnakar Gaikwad as Chief Secretary, he had refused to pay for the charges of Rent, Electricity and water ( MMRDA) . In the contrary, Swadheen Kshatriya has not misused his position and has made payment for the services utilized, without making as fuss. During the term of Ratnakar Gaekwad, the government had to allow the facilities of accommodation with free water, electricity and rent, similar to the facilities of Cabinet Ministers and Ministers of State.
