Governor's office doesn't maintain a separate record file for complaints concerning Vice Chancellor's of Universities.

There's is a rise in complaints against the Vice Chancellor's of all universities in Maharashtra, yet the Governor's secretariat doesn't maintain a separate file of complaints for record purposes has been revealed in a reply to RTI Activist Anil Galgali by the Education department in the Governor's secretariat.

RTI Activist Anil Galgali had sought information from the Governor's secretariat regarding all complaints received by it against the Vice Chancellor's of Universities in Maharashtra. Shri PP Lumball, Under Secretary and Public Information Officer in the Education department within the Governor's secretariat rejected the RTI query filed by Galgali stating that the Information sought is general in nature since it does not mention any Particular Vice Chancellor regarding whom the information is sought and also if the information sought is of any specific complaint. Also the office doesn't maintain an record file for preserving the complaints against VC's of the Universities. Lumball has further informed that, if a query is raised regarding any specific complaint against a particular VC, in that case it would be able to provide whatever information which may be available with them. Anil Galgali has filed an 1st appeal with Dy Secretary of the Governor, Primal Singh against the claim of the Public Information Officer. Galgali further claimed that, the Governor is the Chancellor of all the Universities in Maharashtra and further has a Education department within its Secretariat hence its claim that a file to record complaints against VC's is not maintained by the office is surprising and non convincing regretted Galgali. Galgali alleged that it is an effort by Dy Secretary to conceal information.

The various Universities in Maharashtra are namely University of Mumbai, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Maharashtra University of Health sciences, Nashik, Mahatma Phule Agricultural university, North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon, Dr Punjabrao Deshmukh Agricultural University, Akola, Savitri

bai Phule Pune University, Shivaji University, Kolhapur, Solapur University, Marathwada Agricultural University, Parbhani, Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Nashik, have Vice Chancellor's against whom there are multiple complaints filed by people with the Governor, who is also the Chancellor of all the above Universities.
