Government Officer's fail to pay punishable Rent now mounting to Rs. 65 lakhs & illegally occupied Government Quarters
Tired of continuous follow ups and reminders, the Public Works Department has approached the Competent authority court for getting the dues which are pending from the Bureaucrats who have lived in the Government Accommodation illegally. To make the matters, worse, these punishable Rental dues are of the officer's who have either retired or transferred elsewhere, informs RTI activist Anil Galgali by Public Works department. The names who have now defaulted the punishable rental dues include current Thane Collector Dr. Ashwini Joshi, Kamlakar Fund, Anil Sontakke, Prakash Rathod and PK Jain.
RTI Activist Anil Galgali had made an application to sought information from the General Administration Department (GAD) for knowing details of officers and Bureaucrats who have been staying in the Government accomodation occupying the flats illegally. The application was in turn transferred to the PWD department. The Public Works Department handover the list and names of the officers who have been given orders to cough the Punishable dues which are mounting to 64,90,732/-. 5 Bureaucrats even after their transfer haven't still left their previous accommodation. Thane Collector Dr. Ashwini Joshi even after the transfer on 17th December 2014 has still occupied her flat in Kedar 2 for which the punishable dues to be recovered is in tune of Rs. 3,06,838/-. Kamlakar Fund owes the department Rs. 18,47,109/- Avinash Zaade owes Rs. 4,22,160/- Judge of the Labour Court Anil Sontakke owes Rs. 1,11,808/- Dhanaji Toraskar Rs. 5,05,687/- Prakash Kumar Rahule's dues are mounting to 2,43,740/- Ex Addl Judge Prakash Rathod's dues mount to 10,59,689, Ex Judge Pankaj Shah Rs. 3,22,665, Safai Kamgar Taramati Palye Rs. 48,000/- Kashinath Jadhav 2,46,000 and Carpenter Vasant Panchal owes 3,96,000/-.
Maharashtra State Police Vigilance Department's Member Premkumar Jain, who is an Ex- Principal Secretary, Home as well, his dues are mounting to Rs. 9,81,036/- To top this, Jain has in turn pulled the Government in the court for this matter. The Government on the other hand has awarded Jain a plum posting in the State Police Vigilance Committee
Anil Galgali surprised that how Top Most officer's occupied the Government Quarters illegally " The people who are still working with the Government, the dues can be deducted accordingly from the pay checks and for those who have been retired, Government can arrange to collect the dues from their pension" add Galgali.
