MCA President, Ashish Shelar who also happens to be the President of Mumbai BJP had requested the CM to sanction permission for construction of the Mound Gallery at its complex at G Block, BKC. After order of the CM, the MMRDA, has rejected the application for permission and has conveyed that, it can be considered only after the dispute related to violation of lease agreement is resolved. This was Informed to RTI Activist Anil Galgali by the MMRDA administration. This refusal by the MMRDA, which is headed by the CM himself is seen as a rap for Ashish Shelar.
RTI Activist Anil Galgali had sought information about the permission sought by MCA for construction of Mound Gallery from the MMRDA. MMRDA is its response to the query informed that, it has rejected the permanent for construction of Mound Gallery. For the documents provided, it can be assessed that, MCA President and BJP leader, Ashish Shelar had sought permit for construction of 2 Mound Gallery at its G Block BKC complex. Thereafter on 1st September 2017 CM had passed remarks to do inspection and to do the needful on the letter of Ashish Shelar and forwarded it to MMRDA Commissioner UPS Madan. MMRDA'S City and Regional development departments Chief Sampath Kumar on 19th March 2018 conveyed to Ashish Shelar and Architect Shashi Prabhu that the permit is being denied. It also informed that, fresh permissions can be given only after resolution of the dispute relating to violatiin the lease conditions by subleasing the plot, in the course of development of the plot. Anil Galgali had in his letter addressed to CM and MMRDA Commissioner dt 10th November 2017 had demanded action in the matter.
Anil Galgali expressed that, the violation of the lease agreement by MCA is illegal and MMRDA should infact take back the possession of the plot from MCA as being done by the MCGM, but since all party leaders have a hold in MCA no strong action is being initiated by the government. Galgali further expressed that, CM Devendra Fadnavis should order for taking back possession of the plot from MCA, which was reserved for Educational purposes and allotted for development of a Cricket Academy by violation of norms.
