The Chief Fire Officer of MCGM Prabhat Rahangdale has not been traceable since Kamala Mill Fire Tragedy which claimed the life of 14 Citizens. This is not a first time that Mr Prabhat Rahangdale has been found missing from the actions scene during Major Emergency Situations in Mumbai. During last Sakinaka fire disaster too, Which claimed the lives of 12 people, Prabhat Rahangdale was missing from the tragedy site. RTI Activist Anil Galgali has questioned his absence, after elapse of 72 hours of Kamala Mill Fire Tragedy. Fire brigade department in Mumbai has not been able to confirm whether thier Chief was in India or Abroad. Even while the fire brigade is under scanner for the shielding the violation of Fire Safety.
The Maharashtra Fire prevention and life safety Measures Act, 2006 stipulates strong action against the violations and lays down the guidelines to be followed by Fire Safety agencies. Galgali has express surprise that " Chief Culprit" is missing even while his department faces flake by Govt and Public. Galgali has written to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and requesting him to take appropriate action against the officer who are direct or indirectly involved in large scale of violation of law.
