Even after the Bmc Paid 540 crores, the Mumbai's Collector sit on 166 proposals of land Acquisition

Brihan Mumbai Corporation has not been able to commence work on more than 166 Reservation land , Due undue delay in Acquisition of land by the Collector office in Mumbai. This shocking state of affairs has come to light through an RTI inquiry by RTI Activist Anil Galgali. A total number of 166 proposals of land acquisition sent by BMC are pending with the Collector after paid a whooping amount of Rs 539,75,16,990/- for Acquisition of 7,59,027.43 square feet of land.  Important projects of developing School, Playgrounds, Gardens, Roads, Markets and Parking lots in Mumbai City & Suburbs have been hit by lacdasical attitude of Collector office functioning under Government of Maharashtra.

Anil Galgali ask the information related pending Acquisition Proposal which was send by BMC to Collector.  In fact, BMC had paid a whooping amount of Rs 539,75,16,990/- for Acquisition of 7,59,027.43 square feet of land. This being half the cost of Acquisition, As stipulated under law to begin the process of acquisition. Information collected from replies received from various Public Information Officers revealed.

Anil Galgali had initially sought information on two major Road Acquisition in jurisdiction of Kurla L ward. First pertaining to Lathia Rubber Road in Sakinaka, That crosses the Mithi River connecting it to Mumbai Airport. The second one was extention of Liyaquat Ali Road, That is likely to cut down travel time between Kurla station and Bandra-Kurla complex by half. Galgali realised that the main role of Collector who is sitting on acquisition proceedings of major projects all over Mumbai. A record number of 21 acquisition proposals of Andheri K-West ward are pending with the Collector. The details of wardwise projects lying with the collector are as follows-  A-Ward 8, B-Ward 1, C-Ward 3, D-Ward 11, E-Ward 13, F-South Ward 2, F-North 1, G-South 2, G-North 2, H-West 2, H-East 4, K-East 10, P-South 9, P-North 12, R-South 4, R-Central 9, R-North 20, L Ward 5, M-East 8, N Ward 4, S Ward 7 & T-Ward 8.

Anil Galgali has written to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis seeking his intervention for immediate completion of projects. Collector office should be instructed to complete acquisition proceedings on war footing, Galgali demanded.
