Chief Minister's Relief Fund has Fix deposits Rs 574.57 Crores in Bank

In the last 58 months, Maharashtra Government provided aid to people through Chief Minister Relief Fund to 22,633 people of Rs 242.53 Crores Whether 3161 Applications being Rejected. As of now, the CM Relief Fund has Fix deposits Rs 574.57 Cr  in 8 Banks and Earns Interest of Rs 41.63 Crores. Its revel in a query filed by RTI Activist Anil Galgali. CM Relief Fund  Documents destroyed in the Mantralaya fire on 21 June 2012. So Audit has not completed.

RTI Activist Anil Galgali had ask various information related to CM Relief Fund from 1 January 2005 to till date. Chief Minister Secratariat has infomed Anil Galgali that all the documents destroyed in the Mantralaya fire on 21 June 2012 .Therefore only information Available has from 22 June 2012 upto 30 March 2017. In the above mentioned period 21,943 people received Medical Aid of Rs 183,15,00,930 and 690 people received a total sum of Rs 59,37,86,710 of Aid for varied reasons such as Accidental Deaths, Fire Victims & Artificial Organ Transplants.

This monetary aid is provided through Chief Minister Relief Fund according to the accepted norms being fulfilled as per the stipulated guidelines. Apart from medical aid, other cases are considered on receiving requests according to their importance and priorities and instructions pass by Chief Minister. Otherwise they are put to hold.  Out of Total Applications Received for Medical Aid 3161 were Rejected. In the Mantralaya Fire of 21 June 2012 all the records of this Relief Fund Cell were destroyed So they able to provide  past information before 21 June 2012, after the completion of audit. The interest generated through the 8 banks is Rs 41,63,53,519 on 2 May 2017. Apart from State bank all the other 7 Banks are private.
