Land worth crores allotted to Hema Malini, for just 70 thousand

A beneficial government can work wonders can be seen from an 2000 Sq Mtrs land allotment in oshiwara for facilitating a Dance Academy of BJP MP Hema Malini. It has now come to light through the replies received by RTI activist Anil Galgali that, the land admeasuring 2000 Sq Mtrs has been allotted to the BJP MP and yester year actress Hema Malini for a pittance Rs 70,000/= (@ Rs 35/= per Sq Mtrs) for a land currently valued in crores. Priorly Congress MP and current IPL Chairman, Rajeev Shukla too had been a similar beneficiary and the issue had generated enough heat forcing the Shukla family controlled BAG company to return the allotted plot. Another interesting twist to the Hema issue is that, she has yet to fulfill the financial compliances and also return a previously allotted land. RTI activist Anil Galgali had sought information from the the Mumbai Suburban Collector regarding the allotment of plot for a Dance Academy to BJP MP Hema Malini. The information provided by the Collector, MSD is shocking. The land allotted is situated in Ambivili at Andheri taluka and is reserved for Gardens, also the land has been allotted at a pittance of just Rs 35 per Sq Mtrs. The allotment executed in 2016 has been done on the rate of valuation based on 1/2/1976, which was Rs 140 per Sq Mtrs. The land allotment has been done at the 25% rate of Rs 140/=, which works out to Rs 35/= per Sq Mtrs. Previously Hema Malini was allotted a land at Versowa village of the same Andheri taluka on 4/4/1997 for which a payment of Rs 10 lakhs was made. But since a portion of that land was effected with CRZ regulations, Hema Malini had not undertaken any construction on the land. Also as per the terms of that agreement, Hema Malini was supposed to raise 25% of that project cost, which was never done till date. Inspite of the track record, the state government acted benevolently and allotted an alternative land for her. The Hema Malini Dance Academy vide their letter dt 6/7/2007 addressed to the govt sought alternative land against the CRZ effected Versowa land. It asked the govt to allot 2000 Sq Mtrs of the reserved land for Dance Academy and proposed to develop a garden on the remaining land by its own trust, which was accepted by the govt on 30/7/2010. Some further information sought by the govt was never satisfactorily complied with. The govt allotted 2000 Sq Mtrs from a total land admeasuring 29360.50 Sq Mtrs reserved for Gardens purpose and situated in Survey no 109 A/1, CTS no 3, village Ambivili, Taluka Andheri on 23rd December 2015 in an order issued by Dy Secretary Madhav Kale. Also it has come to light that the whole issue of land allotment got motion after a meeting chaired by the Principal Secretary (Revenue) was held on 19th December 2015 leading to the allotment of land for a pittance amount of just Rs 70 thousand for a plot worth crores restored for the Hema Malini Dance Academy. Furthermore the Mumbai Suburban collectors office in its letter addressed to BJP Loksabha MP Hema Malini dt 15/1/2016 requested some documents and some more compliances. It seems that Hema Malini had personally visited the plot on 14/8/2015 and after that only the process got initiated, culminating to allotment. The Hema Malini Dance Academy's project of cultural complex is proposed to cost Rs 18 crores 48 lakhs 94 thousand 500 and as per instructions it has to submit a certificate stating that 25% of funds are available with it and also how is it going to raise the balance 75% of the funds required? The Academy in its response has intimated that it has Rs 3.50 crores available with it and the balance is proposed to be raised through bank loans. The reply certifies that the Academy lacks the required 25% finance with it and also is not clear about its funds for the balance 75%. In a letter addressed to CM Devendra Fadnavis, Anil Galgali had questioned that, at one end the BJP govt is talking of taking back the reserved lands allotted to various organizations and on the other hand is allotting a prime land, reserved for Gardens purpose to its MP Hema Malini and allowing construction on it for a Dance Academy. Galgali stated that the over eagerness is suspicious? He further expressed surprise on the intentions of the Govt to allot land on the basis of rates in 1976 rather than the current ready reckoner rates. He finally stated that the government should itself develop such cultural complex, instead of handing over prime plots to private organizations due to which the government's will be saved from wasting it's efforts to recover such allotted lands at a later date.
