Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Lodhivali a 82 beded hospital of Reliance Industries Limited that was a dream come true for it's founder chairman Late Shri Dhirubhai Ambani to serve the community in hours of need. Efforts to get the above redressed have met with resistance at various level however, the relentless battle to save the hospital continues. Government of Maharashtra conduct a inquiry against this hospital but no action taken. In a press conference held at Mumbai Marathi Patrakar Sangh, dignitaries demand to Save Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and publish the inquiry report which was supresh by Maha Govt.
It's now in a state of despair after reported irregularities, neglect and CSR funds misuse by its former whistleblower Medical Director Dr. Sanjay Thakur surfaced. At stake is also Raigad district's first and largest PPP centre for People Living with HIV AIDS (PLHA) due to management brazenness.
Anil Galgali, RTI Activist expressed concern on the CSR expense modus operandi that certainly raises more question than what meets the eye in form of purported expenses on CSR activity as claimed by the corporate vis-a-vis the state of affairs at Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital as it is evident today. This is certainly inconsistent with the noble vision of the founder chairman of RIL. He expressed hope that the current generation of leaders take note and set right the state of affairs that Dr.Thakur has unravelled.
Dr. H S Bawaskar from Mahad expressed his views about how happy he was to visit the hospital few years back and how impressed he was with the infrastructure ib Raigad district. He recalled a number of instances where he rendered telephonic advise to the doctors there to treat ans save farmers and tribals from scorpion sting and snake bite. The recent tragic incident of food poisoned deaths at Mahad nearby according to him may have been averted if timely diagnosis and treatment at this facility been rendered rather than the patienrs having to be transferred to far of places. He stressed the need of golden hour while lamenting on the current neglect even of PLHA from Raigad District. Dr. Abhijit More from Jan Aarogya Abhiyan gave statistical information on the trauma victims and urged the government to intervene. He had earlier lodged an online petition to the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Government of Maharashtra Shri Devendra Fadanvis.
Dr. M. Mirajkar of Citizen Doctor Forum Mumbai expressed concerned on the recent spate of hospital closures and management neglect.In this press conference Adv. Jayant M Chitale, Adv Wilson Gaikwad, Mr. Jitendra Tandel, Mr. Vinod Sadvilkar, Mrs. Swati Patil, Mr. Eknath Sangle Mr. C M Kulkarni, Mr. Rajendra Dhage and Mr. S N Thakur are present. The Press Conference was organized by Rugna Kalyan Samajik Sanstha and Citizen Doctor Forum Mumbai.
